New Adjuster Training Classes in Charlotte

RJMW Claims Services, a leader in the Catastrophe Claims Adjusting Industry, is offering 4 ˝ day classes for New Adjusters. This is a comprehensive class that will cover the basics of being an Insurance Adjuster and how to handle claims and use Xactimate 25 for completing claims.

All persons interested in becoming professional Catastrophe adjusters for Property Claims or current adjusters with limited Property Claims experience who have NEVER worked for RJMW before, should take this class. This class is also good for beginning Adjusters who need a refresher on the claims process.

This class is not designed for preparation of any state Adjusters licensing exam. You do not have to be a licensed Adjuster to attend this class. This class will not certify you to work claims in any state or certify you to work claims for a specific Insurance Carrier.

Class will be offered as follows: 

New Adjuster Class #6

Monday, June 21st - Friday June 25th, 2010

(Monday –  Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, Friday 8 am to Noon )

All Classes will be conducted at the RJMW Training Facility located at:

Instructions will include….

  • Installation of a registered Copy of Xactimate 25.5 good for one month (normally $150 per month) and information on installing the demo version after registered copy expires

  • Claims set up

  • Scoping Interior and Exterior

  • Inspection

  • Measuring Roofs and Rooms

  • Writing estimates in Xactimate 25.5

  • Reporting using Xactimate 25.5

  • Basic Sketch using Xactimate 25.5

  • Claims Submission

  • BONUS items - Haag Shingle Gauge and Roof Pitch Gauge are included

Cost for the 4 ˝ Day Class

Cost of this class will be $400.00

Dress is business casual the same as you should dress for adjusting losses. You will need to make sure that you bring proper foot wear to allow climbing of roofs. 

You do not need to have Xactimate installed prior to the class but must bring a laptop computer with at least the following:

Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 starting with Xactimate 25.2.)  

  • Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition - supported starting with Xactimate 25.2.
  • Processor Speed - Xactimate 25 requires at least a 1 GHz processor (1.5 GHz or better is recommended)
  • RAM - Xactimate 25 requires that your machine have at least 512 MB of RAM (1 GB or better is recommended).
  • Hard Drive Space - Xactimate 25 requires that your computer have at least 1.5 Gig of free hard drive space available.
  • Monitor Resolution - Xactimate 25 requires that your monitor resolution be set to 1024x768 or higher.

Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Any Edition)

  • Windows Vista Ultimate - supported starting with Xactimate 25.2.
  • Processor Speed - Xactimate 25 requires at least a 1 GHz processor (1.5 GHz or better is recommended)
  • RAM - Xactimate 25 requires that your machine have at least 1 GB of RAM.
  • Hard Drive Space - Xactimate 25 requires that your computer have at least 1.5 Gig of free hard drive space available.
  • Monitor Resolution - Xactimate 25 requires that your monitor resolution be set to 1024x768 or higher.

An external mouse is strongly recommended as you may find it difficult to draw sketches using laptop touch pads.

Computers and Basic Computer Skills

In order to take this class you will need to be able to load Xactimate on your computer. If your computer is over 3 years old you might want to consider getting another computer before the class as Xactimate will likely not run on a system older than 3 years. Please refer to the attached file that has the initial email about the class for the minimum requirements for Xactimate 25.

In order to use Xactimate you must have a basic understanding of PC based computers and how to operate it. If you cannot cut, copy and paste or do basic file operations you will need to know this before the class. There are some free training sites on the Internet and CDs that you can purchase. Make sure you also bring the following:

  • Tape measures – Min 30 ft
  • Digital camera
  • Note pads
  • Pens or pencils and highlighters
  • Calculator
  • Proper footwear for climbing Roofs

All Lodging and Transportation will be at your own expense.  When you register for the class we can provide you recommended area to stay in. Unfortunately we are not setup to offer ANY Continuing Education Credits at this time.

Submitting registration does not guarantee a you a seat in the class. Classes are on a first come first serve basis. A minimum number of students is required in order to run a class.
